Where Do You Eat In Sydney?
My Insider Eats: The exceptional bakeries, restaurants and cafes I keep going back to

We all know that Sydney is an exceptional city for eating. It’s a combination of stand-out produce and world-class chefs that aren’t afraid put their own spin on the classics, and tweak traditional dishes from around the world by integrating distinctly Australian ingredients, flavours and style.
While I grew up in Sydney, I’ve been based in Byron Bay for over a decade, so I relish in the opportunity to visit - and revisit some of very favourite restaurants. So where the heck do you go when there’s so much on offer? And if, say, you only had a week or a weekend?
Apart from creating my own “eatineraries”, I’ve often done them for friends, chefs and food writers from around the world. I remember taking the team from Bon Appetit to my go-to haunts from authentic Thai to underground bars, whilst not being able to drink because I was secretly pregnant!
Anyway, these are the places I recommend to friends and those in the know. I could honestly list dozens and dozens here, but that’s not our aim today is it? So I’m distilling down to 13 (an impossible task it seems but here we are!).
Drum roll… here are the 13 Exceptional Sydney Eats that I keep going back to.
